Kris Coleman founded Red Five Security in 2004 to provide world-class security and protective intelligence services. Kris continues to use his extensive knowledge, diverse experience, and client-centered approach to grow the Red5 brand into a multi-faceted company focused on bespoke security solutions for unique clientele.
Working in both the private and public sectors throughout his 30+ year career, he has served with the Central Intelligence Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, an Independent Security Consultant to both the US Government and private clients, and as founder and CEO of Red5. His depth and range of experiences allows the Red5 team to specialize in proactive and high-quality managed security services differentiated by best-in-class customer service and client satisfaction.
During his tenure with the CIA, Kris conducted threat and vulnerability assessments and developed programmatic approaches to counterterrorism and law enforcement. Deployed with the CIA’s Protective Operations Cadre he was a Senior Instructor, Team Leader, and founding member of the Counter Assault Team. Kris also served four years as a Special Agent with the FBI, with a focus on criminal investigation of international organized crime and international terrorism. He was a member of the FBI’s enhanced SWAT Team and was an FBI-certified instructor in firearms, protection, surveillance, and counter-surveillance. Over the course of his government career he lived and worked in 70+ countries, protected royal family members, and helped secure multiple Olympics and other major world events.
Kris’s private sector portfolio is extensive and diverse with a distinctive portion of that work focused on the complete assessment, design development, and implementation of cutting-edge security programs for high net worth and corporate clients. Projects have included large estates across the U.S., commercial facilities with challenging security requirements, as well as unique operational challenges overseas. Kris has supported many of the Forbes top 25 families, and has extensive experience solving some of the hardest risk management problems for some of the highest profile, Fortune 500 corporations.
Kris is also an accomplished author of a copyrighted protective intelligence methodology for executives known as PrIME©, and the book Raise Your Resiliency released in October 2020. He is a sought-after advisor and speaker to established groups such as Heckerling, ACTEC, Tiger21 and Vistage.
Kris is a member of the American Society for Industrial Security, Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI, The OSS Society, and the Association of Former Intelligence Officers. He was named an Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2019 Mid-Atlantic Award Finalist. Kris continues his long history of service through Red5’s own charitable arm, Red Hands Helping.
