Threat Vulnerability and Risk Assessments

Red Five provided threat, vulnerability, and risk assessments (TVRAs) for three sites owned and operated by a multinational technology company. Red Five simultaneously deployed three teams of experts—including threat analysts, security design consultants, and explosive specialists with decades of experience—to the Client’s facilities across the United States to evaluate the threats, vulnerabilities, and risks present at the sites. The assessments included open source research, site surveys, and interviews with key stakeholders in the Client’s organization.

Red Five utilized their proprietary PrIME methodology for this project. The PrIME methodology articulates how Red Five approaches its Clients’ challenges and how we assess, design, implement, and operationalize the solutions for them. PrIME is based on real-world scenarios with a variety of other clientele and critical facilities. The assessment methodology is supported by 30+ years of assessments by Sandia National Laboratories.

• The first step in this methodology is to characterize and describe the assets to be protected.

• Once the description is complete, the analyst identifies the type(s) of assets present and their criticality.

• The third step is to identify the types of threats that may exist against predetermined assets.

• Upon completion of the threat statement, adversarial paths and asset vulnerabilities are analyzed to identify likely approaches and scenarios.

• The last steps are to review the vulnerabilities, assess risk ratings, and make recommendations as necessary.
