Red Five has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, engaging, and visionary leader to become part of our team, supporting our mission to provide a comprehensive, highquality level of security and problem solving for our clients. The primary role of the Director of IT Security is to provide vision, strategy, broad-based planning, management, and programmatic implementation to our Client.

The Director of IT Security will predominantly work at the Client headquarters in Washington, DC, with occasional local travel to its satellite offices. The individual will serve as an advocate for the Client’s total information security needs, and will be responsible for the development and delivery of a comprehensive information security strategy to optimize the security posture of the Client.

The Director of IT Security will also be responsible for the strategic leadership of Red Five’s information security program, providing guidance and counsel to the CEO and other key members of the leadership team based out of the McLean, VA headquarters.



Primary Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Red Five leadership, client representatives, and vendors in defining objectives for information security;
• Lead the planning and implementation processes of a comprehensive information security program for both the Company and primary Client;
• Establish annual and long-range security and compliance goals; define security strategies, metrics, and reporting mechanisms; and create a roadmap for continual program improvements;
• Stay abreast of information security issues and regulatory changes affecting Red Five and this unique Client, participate in strategic policy and practice discussions, and communicate to employees and the Client on a regular basis about such topics;
• Manage the convergence of physical and IT security and coordinate with physical security vendors;
• Operationalize relevant threat intelligence, and determine future threat intelligence needs, from internal and external sources;
• Provide hands-on technology support, utilizing vendors as needed, to ensure Red Five and the Client’s needs are met in a highly responsive and effective manner;
• Stay abreast of security incidents and act as the primary control point during significant information security incidents;
• Convene meetings with the CEO and other Client leaders as appropriate;
• Develop, implement, and administer technical security standards and tools to address and mitigate security risk;
• Monitor compliance with security standards and appropriate policies;
• Oversee internal security assessments and IT audits for Red Five and the Client, providing guidance, evaluation, and advocacy on audit responses;
• Work with Company leadership and relevant compliance entities to build security and compliance programs that effectively address regulatory requirements and best practices; and
• Create education and awareness programs and advise employees and clients at all levels on security issues, best practices, and vulnerabilities.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of relevant IT security experience;
• Previous leadership experience as an IT Security Director, CISO, or other similar role;
• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Science or another related field required;
• Advanced degree preferred;
• Relevant professional certification(s) (e.g., CISM, CISSP) preferred;
• Demonstrated experience advising and collaborating with senior management in a team-oriented environment;
• Proven success in working with internal and external auditors;
• Experience working in a diverse, multi-cultural environment with a broad range of constituents;
• A leadership approach that is engaging, imaginative, and collaborative;
• Ability to work independently in a decentralized environment, without the reliance of direct authority;
• Proven maturity, reliability, composure, and stability under pressure;
• Strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills;
• Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple, competing responsibilities;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and
• Demonstrated experience with the following systems:
o Firewall Configuration and Monitoring;
o Cisco Networking, including WiFi;
o MDM Solutions;
o Mobile Device Security for Android and iOS;
o Microsoft Active Directory;
o Exchange and Outlook;
o Routing and Basic Networking, VPNs, and VLANs;
o Wireshark;
o Log Collection and Analysis; and
o Two Factor Authentication.
